The coach will stop at Marion Bay for the first drop off and the food order to the general store then on to Butlers and Annies Nursery the second drop off and the third is Butlers Beach. There is a fence across the road leading up to salmon beach we have permission to walk along the road but do not walk across the paddocks, please.
The weigh in will be back at Marion Bay.
Fish that should be caught are mullet, tommies, sweep, salmon/salmon trout and rock fish best baits gents, prawn, cockles and pilchard and don’t forget the berley!
This is usually our last trip of the season but we thought we would see how the mullet go as the salmon have been a bit thin in September for the beach fishermen this is also our Saltwater Teams Event, so good luck to all!
As yet there is no heaviest fish on 3kg for the saltwater and the heaviest nominated species this year are KG whiting, sweep and zebrafish.
RAFFLE: Duncan has informed us the raffle on the next trip is the whole kit and caboodle one prize that being a rod, a reel, line, float, and hooks. Break into the piggy banks it is going to a great cause, – us!
It is a rock and beach trip so FISH SAFE!!
SAFETY TIP Remember when fishing the rocks be very careful of rocks covered in algae, these appear black to green in colour and when wet are extremely slippery, add water and they become lethal. Don’t take any unnecessary risks, always make sure you have an exit away from on coming waves if they be-come threatening or the tide rises. If in doubt, then it is probably good sign not to fish there!
As we could encounter rough seas, rogue waves, slippery rocks, crumbling cliff faces, etc. use your com-mon sense. Fish in safety and remember, no fish is worth risking your life for. For the supervision of Jun-iors rock fishing, a maximum of two juniors per senior (with permission), refer to By-Law 26.
If you would like to join us on the next trip have a look at the calendar or check out our fishing club memberships.
